The Luminar Works roadmap sets out the modules planned beyond launch. None of the modules on this page is available yet. The roadmap is subject to change: module names, scope, and sequencing may evolve before release, and inclusion on this page is not a committed delivery date. Each module will layer on top of your existing setup without restructuring it, in line with how all Luminar Works modules work.
The modules available today — Luminar Core, Smart Planning, Multi-day Planning, and Size-Up — each have their own documentation.
Several planned modules depend on the Luminar Works mobile app. A Luminar Works mobile app for agents — allowing published trips to be viewed and executed in the field — is coming soon after launch, and is not yet available.
Planned planning modules
Resource Operation — not yet available
For resources that don't all work to the Business Unit's hours or start from its location. Resource-level operating windows by day of week, resource-level trip start and end points, and the choice of whether a resource routes via the Business Unit or starts its activities directly.
Multiple Service Windows — not yet available
More than one service window at Customer, Site, and task level, so service availability can be modeled as it actually is — a site open morning and afternoon, or differing across the week — rather than as a single continuous window.
Task Pairing — not yet available
For tasks that only make sense in order — Task X can't begin until Task Y is done. Define dependencies between tasks; flagged in manual planning, and enforced as a hard constraint with Smart Planning.
Task Preferences — not yet available
Capture customer preferences for how their tasks are handled — service position within a trip or day, no concurrent visits, and preferred resources. Requires Smart Planning.
Assignment Constraints — not yet available
Matching rules for operations where not every Agent suits every task or Asset, and some tasks must run alone.
Flexible Constraints — not yet available
Controlled give for constraints that would otherwise be hard: convert selected constraints to soft, with a penalty when broken, and set how much each breach matters — so a plan can accept a small window breach over leaving a task unplanned.
Advanced Planning — not yet available
For operations that need to set the planning trade-offs themselves — weighting one objective against another and adjusting the costs the optimizer weighs, rather than relying on automatic tuning. Requires Smart Planning.
Rest/Break Management — not yet available
Planned breaks and no-travel periods within trips — accounting for meal times, fatigue, and legal rest requirements.
Travel Rules — not yet available
Encode your local travel knowledge so plans reflect how your resources actually travel: custom road segment speeds, area-based travel rules, limits on how many resources operate in an area at once, and road type avoidance per speed profile. Requires Smart Planning.
Time-of-day travel times — not yet available
Travel times that reflect general traffic patterns — peak and off-peak — rather than flat estimates, with path selection reflecting expected conditions. Forecast patterns only, not live traffic.
Dynamic Capacity — not yet available
For Assets whose capacity changes with configuration — attachable and removable units that increase or decrease capacity, planned as the configured combination rather than a fixed value. Requires Smart Planning and a Capacity-Constrained Business Unit.
Relay Operations — not yet available
For operations where a capacity unit — such as a trailer — doesn't stay attached to one resource for the whole trip. Drop patterns: a unit is deliberately left at a customer or location for later collection — for example, a trailer left for self-offload and picked up on a return leg. Exchange patterns: a unit is transferred between resources at a defined exchange point — one Asset unhitches a trailer where another collects it, and both carry on with their own trips. Builds on Dynamic Capacity.
Agent Crews — not yet available
Multiple Agents assigned to one resource, distinguishing what each contributes — a second driver affecting travel rules, or additional hands reducing time on site.
Visit Grouping — not yet available
Rules allowing multiple customers' tasks to be grouped into one visit — an Asset parking once at a shopping center and serving several customers — with visit durations that reflect how work at a shared location actually accumulates.
Resource Compliance — not yet available
Accumulative limits brought into planning — total allowable overtime in a month, shifts permitted in a period, Asset servicing based on accumulated distance or hours — so individually valid daily decisions don't accumulate into breaches.
Dynamic Resourcing — not yet available
Select as many resources as you like, and let Smart Planning determine which of them should be used. Allocation happens at planning run time, taking trait constraints into account, while keeping within your license limits. Requires Smart Planning.
API Planning — not yet available
Trigger planning entirely from your own systems: select a dataset, set the optimization configuration, and receive the planned trips and any unplanned tasks in the response — without opening the planning interface.
Reload Management — not yet available
For operations where the constraint between trips is the facility itself: prioritization of resources for reloading, visibility of inbound resources and expected arrivals, and communication to Agents on when to return.
Planned task and data modules
Task Items — not yet available
Tasks composed of the Items they actually contain, so totals are derived from the Items themselves rather than pre-calculated sizes — and what was handled can be confirmed in the field.
Task Traceability — not yet available
For operations that need to know which incoming batches ended up in which outgoing task Items — quality control, recall response, and accountability — with tracing in both directions. Requires Task Items.
Loading Rules — not yet available
Loading guidance built from your rules applied to the planned trip — how the load is broken down, what stacks on what, and where it sits on the Asset — rather than totals left to judgment. Applies to Capacity-Constrained Business Units.
Planned mobile and execution modules
Mobile Workflow — not yet available
Structured data capture at the right moments in the field — questionnaires with typed inputs and validation, Item-level confirmation with reasons where planned and actual differ, triggered at pre-trip, visit, task, or post-trip points. Includes a builder to create, test, and refine workflows before use.
Workflow Plus — not yet available
Extends Mobile Workflow with higher limits, optional questionnaires, and conditional use — workflows that apply only in the right context. Requires Mobile Workflow.
Smart Mobile — not yet available
Adds visibility between departure and completion: device location throughout the trip, additional visit states, and in-app chat between the office and the Agent.
Flexible Execution — not yet available
Controlled changes to a trip already under way — add, cancel, or resequence work not yet conducted, with changes synced to the Agent's device, acknowledged, and logged.
Trip Link — not yet available
A time-limited, web-based link to a trip's activities for Agents without the mobile app — third-party drivers, contract Agents, or anyone whose device is unavailable — keeping their activity flowing into execution reporting.
Zone Monitoring — not yet available
Location-based assurance at and around known Sites: areas associated to Sites, on-device enforcement that visit activity happens where it should, and configurable alerts for extended dwell or unplanned stops.
Mobile Ordering — not yet available
Order capture at the point of contact: the Agent records the order on their device, it syncs to the server, and it can be retrieved via the API, downloaded to CSV, or converted directly to a task for planning. Requires Task Items and the mobile app.
Live Operations — not yet available
Surfaces risk as it develops on the day — trips running behind, departures slipping, devices going quiet — with intervention options in front of the team while they can still act.
Planned communication modules
Customer Communications — not yet available
Keeps your customers informed between booking and arrival, reducing inbound status queries.
Customer Engagement — not yet available
Two-way messaging between Agent and customer without exposing personal information to either party, a customer interface to track task status, and verification at the point of service via PIN or QR code. Requires Smart Mobile and Customer Communications.
Broadcast Communications — not yet available
Reach a defined group of Agents in one action — notifications with configurable acknowledgment, and task-claim, where a task is posted for a subset of Agents to claim. Target by Business Unit, proximity, planned activity, or resource tag.
Planned insight and analysis modules
Performance Boards — not yet available
Subset-level focus within a Business Unit — regions, teams, customer groups — with competition boards rating and ranking subsets against each other on the execution metrics the Business Unit already measures.
Custom Dashboards — not yet available
Dashboards shaped to each audience, with additional layers of information beyond the standard dashboard and multiple configurations within a Business Unit.
Operations Analysis — not yet available
Turns execution evidence into concrete opportunities — Site GPS corrections, visit duration updates informed by recorded execution, consolidation candidates — presented as suggestions the user selects to implement.
Planned organization and network modules
Shared Operations — not yet available
Hierarchical grouping of Business Units for growing organizations — key settings inherited down the hierarchy rather than maintained in every Business Unit, and resource sharing between Business Units where capacity sits idle next door.
Trip Marketplace — not yet available
Publish a trip to multiple third-party providers and receive competing bids — with the information shared at bid stage deliberately limited to basic statistics and general geography. Contracting and commercial terms remain between you and the provider.
