The Home page in Luminar Works

The Home page is the default screen that opens upon successful login. It gives a planning-focused snapshot of the selected period, quick routes into the Planner, and learning resources and platform updates.

The Luminar Works menu

The menu sits on the left-hand side of the screen. By default it is expanded, showing each item's icon and full name, with sub-items contracted. The menu can be contracted by selecting the "<" icon in its top right corner — in the contracted view, only icons are shown, with the item name available on hover.

Menu items, top to bottom:

  • User profile — the logged-in user is listed at the top of the menu.
  • Home — the default screen after login.
  • Business Configuration — set up and maintain your Business Units.
  • Planner — the planning page, where trips are built on the Gantt and published.
  • Data — with sub-items for Assets, Agents, Customers, and Tasks. Sites are maintained through the Customers page, in one level of drill-through from the Customer.
  • Integration
  • Admin
  • Support — navigates to the Luminar Works support portal, where you can search help resources, interact with the support chat, and — if you can't find the answer — log a ticket.
  • Chat
  • Logout

The Home page header

The header contains:

  • A greeting.
  • A calendar selection, which sets the period for the planning KPIs and the task list below.

Home page KPIs

Basic KPIs focused primarily on planning, for the period set by the calendar selection:

  • Task count by state — Ready, Planned, and Blocked.
  • Time utilization — a percentage, for resources (Assets and Agents).
  • Resource utilization — a percentage, for Assets.
  • Count of trips planned.
  • Total distance planned.

Home page task list

A list of tasks with a toggle between two views:

  • Ready — tasks that are eligible to be planned.
  • At Risk — a subset of Ready tasks whose end date is today or a prior date, to help identify tasks that need to be addressed with haste.

Each task row displays: the Site name, the task identifier, the task type as an icon — a wrench for a service task, an up arrow for a pick-up, and a down arrow for a drop-off — and the date range and time window of the task's service window.

The list is paginated, with Previous and Next buttons and selectable page-number buttons.

A "Go to planner" button navigates to the Planner page, defaulting the planning horizon to today.

The Home page learning resources

Videos

Suggested YouTube videos created by Luminar Works help orientate users on the platform and understand how and when to use the various modules. A "See All" button in the top right of the Videos section opens the Luminar Works YouTube channel in a new browser tab.

Pro Tips

Short articles with helpful information and suggestions about the Luminar Works platform, and about the processes that surround it. Each article is displayed as a card with a title, a short description, a category label, and a "Read more >" button — selecting Read more opens the article on the Luminar Works website in a new browser tab.

The Home page account and updates panel

  • A user card displaying the user's name and the Business Units they have access to.
  • Module cards for available or suggested modules the user may subscribe to — each with a title, a short description, and a "Subscribe Now" button.
  • Announcements and communications about the platform — software updates, new releases, and notices about upcoming maintenance.
