What is Multi-day Planning?
Multi-day Planning lets you plan up to 7 continuous days in a single session, instead of building each day on its own. With the whole horizon in view, work settles across the days more sensibly — grouped by area, and spread by what makes sense for the full stretch, not crammed into whichever day it first lands on. It is built for operations that plan across days, where timing has some give and the workload needs to stay even.
Multi-day Planning requires Luminar Core as the base platform, and layers on top of your existing setup without restructuring it. Current pricing is shown on the Subscription Management page, accessed from the main menu after login.
What Multi-day Planning includes
Multi-day Planning: plan up to 7 continuous days at once
Plan one continuous horizon of up to seven days in a single session, instead of working through each day on its own. The planning horizon is capped at 7 days.
Multi-day Planning: workload balanced across the horizon
The longer view means tasks can be spread and grouped more efficiently across the days available — so no single day carries more than its share, and work in the same area can be grouped onto the same days rather than resources covering the same ground twice in a week.
Multi-day Planning: least-cost scheduling within service windows
Every task is planned to honor its service window. Where the timing has flexibility, the task lands on the day that is least cost to serve — not forced into a fixed slot.
Multi-day Planning: no overlapping trips
A resource is never planned into two trips that overlap, even across different days of the horizon. Trips for a resource are sequential, not concurrent — a resource cannot be double-booked at any point on the timeline.
Multi-day Planning: trips and windows across days
A trip's start and end must fall within the planning horizon — with a multi-day horizon, trips can extend across days. Overnight operating windows — with a start time later than the end time, such as 20:00–06:00 — express continuous overnight operation across days with Multi-day Planning.
When re-planning, existing trips that are not fully contained within the selected planning horizon are locked — they cannot be changed by that planning session — and the resource availability they consume is respected.
Multi-day Planning and other modules
Multi-day Planning can be subscribed to directly with Luminar Core alone — no other module is required.

- With Size-Up, capacity dimensions are respected across every day of the horizon.
Multi-day Planning FAQs
Does Multi-day Planning require Smart Planning?
No — Multi-day Planning can be used directly with Luminar Core. Smart Planning isn't required, but it can make planning significantly faster as your operation becomes more complex.
Does Multi-day Planning replace single-day planning?
No — Multi-day Planning adds the longer view; it doesn't take the single day away. You can still focus on one day whenever that's what you need. What it gives you is the choice of a horizon of up to 7 days. Planned one day at a time, each day tends to take on as much of the available work as it can fit; across a horizon, that same work can be spread over the days more efficiently — so the load is shaped by what makes sense for the whole stretch, not by how much each day can absorb on its own.
Can I adjust a multi-day plan?
Yes — however you put it together, the plan is a starting point, not a lock-in. While a trip is still in the planned state, you're in control on the Gantt: reassign tasks, move them, or take them off a trip until the plan fits the way you want to work. Publish when it's ready.
Can I remove Multi-day Planning later?
Yes, at any time. Your Luminar Core base and any other active modules keep working. Removing a module switches off its capabilities, but your data and settings are retained, and your configuration is restored if you resubscribe.
Is Multi-day Planning included when I sign up?
If you qualify for the 30-day free trial — one Business Unit with 5 or fewer resources — you get access to all paid modules during the trial, Multi-day Planning included. If you start with more than 5 resources, the trial does not apply and your first payment is taken immediately on subscribing. When the trial ends, keep the modules you want by subscribing, or continue on Luminar Core — free, with no time limit, for up to 5 resources in your first Business Unit.
